About
The Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corps has three basic life support ambulances and two advanced life support flycars.
BGVAC is the official ambulance service for the Town of Blooming Grove, NY. It operates out of its station at 7 North Street in the Village of Washingtonville. BGVAC covers over 35.3 square miles of territory, this doesn't even include parts of the Town of Hamptonburgh that we cover. Over 25,000 people rely on our service and depend on us to be available 24/7.
Blooming Grove Ambulance is one of the busiest agencies in the county. We received 2,036 in 2023, 1,987 in 2022, 1,908 calls in 2021 and 1,573 calls in 2020.
Join The Team
We're looking for dedicated people to either drive our certified ambulances, help provide first aid, or become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). We provide CPR training to all members. We also provide ongoing operations and medical training to our members. After meeting service time requirements, we will fund training for our members to become EMTs.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Advanced Life Support
Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance has five full-time and seventeen per-diem paramedics. Our agency provides 24/7 ALS coverage for our district. We have one paramedic from 6am to 6pm, one paramedic 10am-10pm, and another paramedic 6pm to 6am. So during the busiest hours of the day we have two paramedics on.
Basic Life Support
Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance has thirty three volunteers that make up the volunteer side of our BLS crew. We also have two full-time and fourteen per-diem Emergency Medical Technician's. With the volunteer and paid staff combined, we work as one team to provide high quality pre-hospital patient care 24 hours a day 365 days a year..
